Facilities
The main course
building is a relatively new, it was built in 1991. The main building
has two wings, one for boys and one for girls. Each wing has 10
rooms and each room and can accommodate up to 6 children. The
bathrooms are communal. There is a bathroom in each wing; these
have three showers each plus sinks (hot and cold water) and toilets.
The individual sleeping quarters do not have sinks or toilets.
The main building
has a large fully equipped kitchen and large dining and meeting
area. There is a walk-in cooler and other similar modern kitchen
facilities.
On
the grounds there are three additional buildings, a church, a
storage shed and a building which has been converted into an additional
classroom. There is also an outdoor oven.
The course
in set in a relatively wooded area next to a hay field and a small
lake (Crystal Lake) surrounded by summer cottages.
There is telephone
service at the course and cellular phone service in the area around
the lake.
There is a
public beach that is only a 5 minute walk from the course. A paved
road, ideal for morning or evening walks or jogs, circles the
lake. The distance around the lake is about 3 kilometres or nearly
2 miles.
The community
of Canora, Saskatchewan is 15 minutes away with stores, postal
services, service stations, garages, recreational facilities and
hospital.
